During one of my many visits to Saint-Paul-de-Vence, just outside Nice, where Paul Hervieu’s brother Albert had a very famous Hervieu-art-gallery we were, like always, visiting a very little cafe. I said to Albert, my God, I think that is Monsieur Chagall and his wife sitting there. Albert said yes, Madame and Monsieur Chagall are here often. I know them. We live in the same village.
Albert asked me if I would like to say hello to him. Of course, I said.

art very much”.
He looked at me and said “that’s nice”. Where are
you from? I told him I was from
Believe it not, I am sure that we were sitting
together for about twenty minutes and talking. He asked
me many questions about
I had my camera with me, as always, but he asked
me not to make any photos.
Of course I respected this.
Sorry to say = no photos.
But, it was a most incredible twenty minutes spent with Marc Chagall and his lovely wife!
What a day.
