I am very sorry to say that
“Paul Hervieu”
is no longer with us in this world. |

|
Paul Hervieu was like a father for me. I am very pleased
that I have been honoured to be his friend. He opened many doors
for me in the Art and Gallery Business.
It will never be the same fun for me and
Mirja to travel to Nice since he is not any longer there
in his
Galerie Hervieu. |
|
On top of that,
Galerie Hervieu
is closed.
I was crying when I was there the last time. We, Mirja and I have so many good memories
from the time we meet him in the Galerie. All
the interesting painters and artist he introduced us to.

On this photo you can see Paul with one
of “his” artist, the famous and well known Marchand des Raux.
We hade so many dinners with Paul and
his wife Monique, together with his artists friends. Mirja
and I become also friends with them and as result of this we had
many exhibitions in our Galleri ESS in Sweden.

Mirja and I are very sorry that Monique
(Paul’s wife) not was continuing his work. She was always with him
on his exhibitions in Basel and many times even
in Sweden. She has all the
knowledge about how to run the Galerie Hervieu.
In fact, the first time Mirja and I meet Paul and Monique Hervieu
was in Sweden.
They had an exhibition of James Coignard. We were buying one lovely
oil painting and this is still in our private collection. This was
in the middle of 1960. Paul hade exhibition every year in different
towns in Sweden and we see him every
year and was always buying some paintings of his different artists.
Paul had a younger brother “Albert” having a Galerie Hervieu
in “Saint-Paul-de-Vence”, where he and his family were living. Mirja and I meet
him many, many times in that little village that is famous because
Marc Chagall was living there. Also Theo Tobiasse and many more
international known artists. I will be very happy if Monique Hervieu
will reopen
Galerie Hervieu |
Many of this great painters and big personalities
have also passed away, and Mirja and I now feel that we do have
the responsibility to carry on the extremely good work Paul Hervieu
was doing. It is not easy but, I remember that, I promised Paul
one time to do the best I can in gallery business, and I know that,
thanks to everything I have learned from Paul Hervieu,
“I can and I will do it”
He
has been my mentor and I will continue his work.
He
was my teacher, and I will do everything I can, and go forward
with his work in the world of art. This
is the reason why Mirja and I now, very happy, pay homage to
Paul Hervieu
and open the Art Gallery business on INTERNET. |

Invited to a whole day and dinner in
the house and studio of
Antoni Clave’
Thanks to our friend and Mentor in art – business
”Paul
Hervieu” We have a whole Sunday, from early morning
to very late night. I have so many times been looking on
all the interesting photos I was making in the studio and
in his beautiful house. Paul told me later, that Clavé never
let any photographer take photos in his studio. The studio
is very private, for the artist and just a few friends only.
Believe me when we say that we were very gratefully and it
vas an unforgettable Sunday. Of course you believe me when
I say that the house was full of famous art and antics. We
will never forget that we have been invited to Clavé and
his wife and that we had a lovely dinner together with them
and all this thanks to our dear Mentor.
